The quest for excellence
When works on the Tampines Grande complex began in 2007, the buildings were already more than avant-garde in their ecological design. From the outset, Dragages Singapore set ambitious objectives: modern, ultra-environmentally-friendly lay-outs and quality aiming for excellence.
The building is equipped with air conditioning and solar panels, a green roof and it reuses rain water; it provides energy savings 33% greater than the local code. A worthwhile effort. In February 2009, the building received the prestigious American LEED Gold environmental certification. Recognised worldwide, this rewards energy efficiency and various sustainable characteristics of buildings, taking each stage of the project into consideration, from design, through construction, to operation. Tampines Grande is the first building in Singapore to obtain this certification.
